Terrace Bay Pulp Mill Plans to Resume Production by the End of October

Aditya Birla Group expects to have the Terrace Bay pulp mill producing traditional pulp by the end of the month.

Oct. 4, 2012 - Terrace Bay’s pulp mill appears to be on track to resume production some time this month, though workers are still waiting for an exact start-up date, union officials say.
“My understanding is that (the plant) is on track and that it’s been a beehive of activity in there,” Steelworkers staff rep Herb Daniher said Tuesday.
The idle plant, formerly operated by a Buchanan Group subsidiary which became insolvent, was taken over in July by India’s Aditya Birla Group.
