Holmen Sells PM 61 at Its Paper Mill in Madrid
June 11, 2012 - Holmen Paper said that it has signed a deal to sell PM 61 at its mill in Madrid to Albayrak Turizm, who will dismantle the machine and move it to Turkey.
Holmen stopped production on PM 61 in March of 2011. The machine has the capacity to produce 170,000 tonnes per year of coated magazine paper (LWC), and to a lesser extent, newsprint.
According to Holmen, the dismantling of the machine is set to begin at the end of this summer and completed in the first six months of 2013.
PM 61 was the smaller of two paper machines at the Madrid mill. The other machine, PM 62, has a production capacity of 330,000 tpy of newsprint and colored newsprint.
