Cham Paper Names Marcello Di Giacomo to Head Carmignano Coated Specialty Paper Mill in Italy
June 4, 2012 - Cham Paper Group announced that Marcello Di Giacomo will take over responsibility for the management the company's Carmignano coated specialty paper mill in Italy. Di Giacomo will also become a member of Cham's Management Team
Both appointments are effective September 1, 2012.
Since December 1, 2011, the Carmignano site has been run by CEO Peter Studer, as a temporary measure.
Marcello Di Giacomo (an Italian national, who was born in 1962) joins the Cham Paper Group from Kimberly-Clark Italy, where he is currently responsible for managing one of the company's Italian sites. He has a profound knowledge of the paper sector and possesses substantial experience in corporate management that he acquired in various countries in Europe in the context of his previous positions. In those positions, he also gained an in-depth knowledge of Production, Lean Management, Logistics and Strategic Planning.
One of his tasks will be to further optimise those areas at the Carmignano site and to drive forward additional measures to enhance efficiency, Cham Paper said.
During the next two years, the site at Carmignano will take on the role of the most important production site of the Cham Paper Group and will come to form the backbone of the company's efficiency-driven production and logistical platform within the eurozone, the company added.
The Carmignano mill produces: C1S-FlexPack (flexible packaging papers), C1S-Self-adhesive labels (coated label papers), base papers for wet glue labels, and base papers for metallisation. The mill employs 220 people.
