Albany International's John Neun Wins TAPPI Engineering Award

Feb. 29, 2012 Ė TAPPI announced that John Neun of Albany International has been named winner of the TAPPI 2011 Engineering Division Leadership and Service Award. The award sponsored by AMEC is intended to recognize an individual for outstanding leadership and exceptional service to the awarding Division which have resulted in significant and demonstrable benefits to the Division's members.
TAPPIís Engineering Division award recipients will be recognized at the PaperCon 2012 Conference, to be held April 22-25 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Neun, who began his career in the paper industry in 1979, is currently a Staff Engineer with Albany International's Process Analysis Group. He received his Bachelorís and Masterís degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State, and is chairman of the Tappi Paper and Board Division.
Prior to joining Albany International, Neun had a long tenure at Kadant - AES as Cleaning and Conditioning Product Manager and Design and Development Manager. He was also with Mechanical Technology, Inc., an engineering consulting firm, for five years. He holds six U.S. patents and has published many technical papers. He is a Tappi Fellow and past Chairman of both the Papermaker's and Water Removal Committees.
TAPPIís Engineering Division promotes the application of engineering principles to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities for the manufacture of pulp and paper and related products.
