Syassky Pulp and Paper Mill Orders Tissue Machine from Toscotec
March 30, 2011 - Syassky Pulp and Paper Mill, based in St. Petersburg, Russia, recently signed an agreement with the Italian manufacturer Toscotec for the supply of a new tissue line to be installed in the company's mill in Syasstroy.
The new machine will replace the mill's existing PM2.
The new Toscotec AHEAD 1.5-meter crescent former machine consists of a single layer headbox, single press configuration TT SPR 1050, a 3660 mm diameter Steel Yankee Dryer TT SYD 12FT and a renewed reel TT REEL-P. Machine speed will be up to 1400 mpm with a trim width of 4200 mm, for a daily production of 125 tons, Toscotec said.
The scope of the order includes upgrading of the existing stock preparation plant, approach flow system, gas-heated hood, steam and condensate system, as well as electrical and control system.
Toscotec will also provide engineering and other services (erection supervision, commissioning and start up assistance and training).
PM2 is scheduled for start up at the end of this year.
Located in northwest Russia, Syassky Pulp and Paper Mill is an integrated mill with a pulp line and tissue production on PM2, PM3 and PM5. The mill also has converting operations as well as packaging facilities.
Syassky's primary tissue brand is Myagky Znak, which, according to AC Nielsen Market Research, in 2010 reached a 21% market share in Moscow and St. Petersburg regions.
