Several Paper Mills in Japan Affected by Earthquake, Tsunami

March 16, 2011 - Several pulp and paper manufactures in Japan have disrupted operations following the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and the subsequent tsunami that hit the country's north-eastern regions on March 11, says EUWID.

EUWID said that Nippon Paper Group reported it has closed five of its facilities and was currently determining the extent of the damage.

In addition, according to media reports, some pulp and paper mills run by Mistubishi Paper Mills Limited, Oji Paper and Hokuetsu Kishu Paper have also been affected and had to suspend production until further notice.
