Caraustar to Add Freight Charge on Paperboard Shipments

March 11, 2011 - Caraustar Industries yesterday said that it will implement freight surcharges on shipments of paperboard converted products effective with shipments on and after April 1, 2011.

Robert Pender, vice president, Industrial Products Group, said, "Substantial recent increases in diesel fuel prices have dramatically increased the cost of doing business necessitating immediate cost recovery."

Caraustar Industries, Inc. is one of North America's largest integrated manufacturers of 100% recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products. The company serves the four principal recycled boxboard product end-use markets: tubes and cores; folding cartons; gypsum facing paper and specialty paperboard products.
