Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Paper Ready to Commision New Paper Machine

Jan. 4, 2011 - India's Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers' production capacity is ready to increase by about 60 percent next month with the commissioning of its third paper machine, according to a news story in the Hindu Business Line.

The new machine will add 1.55 lakh tonnes per year (155,000 tpy) of printing and writing paper capacity to the mill's present capacity of 2.45 lakh tpy (245,000 tpy).

The Hindu Business Line said trial production started last week and the new machine will be commissioned in mid-January.

The new machine, PM 3, was supplied by Voith.
