Metso Announces Executive Management Changes

Matti Kahkonen

Dec. 16, 2010 - Metso announced that Matti Kahkonen (54) will take over the position of president and chief executive officer of Metso Corp. on March 1, 2011.

Kahkonen is currently executive vice president of Metso, deputy to the CEO and president of Mining and Construction Technology. He succeeds Jorma Eloranta, who will retire on March 1.

Pasi Laine

Metso also said that it has appointed Pasi Laine (47) as president, Paper and Fiber Technology, and Metso's executive vice president and deputy to the CEO, effective March 1. Laine is currently president, Energy and Environmental Technology.

Laine will replace Bertel Langenskiold, who will step down from Metso's Executive Team as of March 1. Langenskiold will work with Metso's top management through the transitional period.
