Marcal Names Fred Smagorinsky as CEO

Nov. 10, 2010 - Marcal Paper Mills has named Fred Smagorinsky as its Chief Executive Officer.

Smagorinsky most recently served as CEO of New Jersey-based Schofield Stone, a major, privately held quarrier, fabricator, wholesaler and retailer of natural stone products.

Prior to Schofield Stone, Smagorinsky served as Chief Operating Officer of Management Leadership for Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization addressing the under-representation of minorities in leadership positions in corporations, entrepreneurial ventures and nonprofit organizations.

Smagorinsky is board chair of Jazz House Kids, a Montclair,NJ-based nonprofit, a member of the Montclair State Business School Advisory Committee, and former president of the Yale School of Management Alumni Association. He earned a BSE from Princeton and an MBA from Yale.

Elmwood Park, New Jersey-based Marcal has manufactured with recycled paper since 1950. Marcal uses only 100 percent premium recycled paper in every product it makes, including the company's Marcal® Small Steps® brand of paper towels, bath tissue, facial tissue and napkins.
