U.S. Kraft Paper, Paperboard Shipments Increased in September

Oct. 18, 2010 - According to the American Forest & Paper Association’s September 2010 Kraft Paper Sector Report, total U.S. Kraft paper shipments were 134.2 thousand tons, an increase of 2.2% compared to September 2009, but a decrease of 1.5% compared to August 2010.

Total year-to-date shipments rose 13.4% over last year.

Total inventory was down 6.0% from last month.

Additional key findings from the report include:

  • Total Unbleached Kraft shipments increased
  • Total Bleached Kraft shipments decreased

PAPERBOARD
AF&PA also reported in its September 2010 U.S. Paperboard Report that total boxboard production increased by 7.2% compared to September 2009, but dropped 1.4% from last month. Year-to-date production was up 4.5% over 2009.
