U.S. Containerboard Production Up in September versus Year-ago
Oct. 15, 2010 - For the eleventh straight month, containerboard production rose over same month a year ago, according to the American Forest & Paper Association's September 2010 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report.
Total containerboard production saw an increase of 189,500 tons or 7.0% when compared to September 2009, the report showed. However, production fell 3.3% over August 2010, although month-over-month average daily production was flat.
Year-to-date 2010 containerboard production has increased 9.2% over 2009, AF&PA said.
The containerboard operating rate for September 2010 rose 10.7 points over September 2009 to 98.7%.
