Ilim Group Pulp, Paper Production Up 8% in First Half of 2010

July 29, 2010 - Russia's Ilim Group reported that its mills produced 1.208 million tons of pulp and paper products in the first half of 2010 — an 8% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2009.

The company said that a total of 770,000 tons of market pulp were produced in the first half of 2010, increasing production by 9% as compared with the first six months of 2009. Board production increased 6%, to 340,000 tons, while paper production remained at the previous year’s level and amounted to 98,000 tons.

Earlier this year, the Ilim Group initiated two significant capital investment projects involving the construction of a new fiber line in Bratsk (Irkutsk Oblast) and the installation of a new paper machine in Koryazhma (Arkhangelsk Oblast).
