Fraser Papers Gets Court OK to Sell Thurso Pulp Mill

April 15, 2010 - Fraser Papers Inc. said that it has obtained final approval on April 13 from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) to complete the sale of its pulp mill located in Thurso, Quebec, Canada to Fortress Specialty Cellulose.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fraser expects to close the deal within the next few weeks.

The Thurso pulp mill has an annual production capacity of 245,000 tons of high quality northern bleached hardwood kraft ("NBHK") market pulp. A portion of the mill's production goes to Fraser's paper operations and the balance is sold worldwide for the manufacture of freesheet papers.
