The Newark Group to Increase Price for Uncoated Recycled Paperboard
Jan. 14, 2010 - The Newark Group has announced a $40 per ton price increase on all uncoated grades of recycled paperboard, effective with shipments on or after February 8, 2010.
The New Jersey-based company said the rising price of recovered fiber is the primary reason for the price hike of URB.
"Our market intelligence shows no relief from these rapidly increasing costs in the near term," said Raymond M. Vargo Jr., vice president of sales for Newark Paperboard Mills Division. "We
will be watching our raw material costs closely, and may make additional price adjustments as conditions warrant."
Earlier in the week, the company announced a $40/ton price increase (effective Feb. 1) on all coated grades of recycled paperboard
