Domtar to Dismantle Prince Albert Pulp Mill

Dec. 22, 2009 - Domtar yesterday announced that it will dismantle its permanently closed Prince Albert, Saskatchewan (Canada) pulp mill.

Montreal-based Domtar said it will continue to remove machinery and equipment from the site and will take steps to engage the services of demolition contractors and file for a demolition permit.

The Prince Albert pulp and paper mill was permanently closed in the first quarter of 2006 and has never been operated since.

The dismantling of the mill's paper machine and converting equipment was completed in 2008.

Dismantling of the remaining assets is expected to start in early 2010.
