Mitsubishi HiTec Paper to Hike Price for Thermal Papers

Dec. 9, 2009 - Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Flensburg (Germany) said that it will increase pricing worldwide for its "thermoscript" Point-Of-Sales thermal papers, effective February 1, 2010.

The amount of the increase was not disclosed, but Mitsubishi said price hikes would vary according to currency valuations in corresponding regions.

Mitsubishi said prices for raw materials continue to rise and it can no longer absorb these additional costs.

The Flensburg mill has an annual capacity to produce 35,000 tonnes per year of thermal and digital imaging papers. The mill employs 264 people.

Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Flensburg is part of the Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd. group of companies.
