Botnia to Boost Pulp Prices in Europe, China
Sept. 24, 2009 - Botnia said that it will increase the price of pulp in Europe and in China, effective October 1.
According to Botnia, in Europe, NBSK (Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft) will jump to US $760/ton and Bleached Eucalyptus and Bleached Birch Kraft to US $650/ton.
In China, NBSK will rise to $670/ton and FRB Euca (Botnia tradename) to $590/ton
Botnia is owned by M-real, Metsaliitto, and UPM-Kymmene. The company operates five pulp mills — four in Finland: Joutseno, Kemi, Rauma, Äänekoski, and the Fray Bentos mill in Uruguay.
