Aug. 19, 2009 - The Paperboard Mill Division of The Newark Group has announced a $40/ton price increase on all coated grades of recycled paperboard, effective with shipments on or after September 15, 2009.

In a letter to customers, the company said, "continuing cost pressures, recently compounded by increasing recovered fiber pricing, outstrip our ability to lower costs through savings initiatives, productivity increases and high-cost facility closures. We must now pass these higher costs on through the supply chain."

On Aug. 12, The Newark Group announced a $40/ton price increase on all uncoated grades effective with shipments on or after September 1, 2009.
