SP Newsprint to Take Downtime in Georgia, Idle Machine in Oregon
June 10, 2009 - SP Newsprint Co.today said that it will take market related downtime at its newsprint mill in Dublin, Georgia.
The mill will be down from June 5 through June 21, 2009, resulting in the removal of about 25,000 metric tons of production.
In addition, SP will temporarily idle paper machine number five at its mill in Newberg, Oregon effective June 18, 2009. The machine produces approximately 150,000 metric tons of newsprint annually.
The mill will continue to operate its paper machine number six and will utilize 100% deink fiber to produce 100% recycled newsprint, SP said.
