May 29, 2008 - Botnia yesterday said that it will increase the price of NBSK (Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft) pulp by USD 30 per ton in Europe.

The increase pushes the price from USD 600 to 630 per ton and becomes effective June 1, CIF Botnia's usual European ports.

This latest price hike comes on the heels of a USD 20 per ton increase Botnia announced in late April.

Although pricing in the global pulp markets is showing signs of a rally, industry analysts caution that the overall weakness in global demand may hinder producers' ability to sustain the current pricing.
