Ilim's Koryazhma Mill Launches New Products

May 13, 2009 - Russian pulp and paper producer Ilim Group said that its Koryazhma Branch has started production of two new products — single ply cartonboard with ultra-light basis weights and light weight fluting 80 grams per m2.

According to Ilim, the new board grades being produced at the Koryazhma mill have the same strength characteristics as common cartonboard and fluting, but weigh less.

The Koryazhma Branch is a former Kotlas pulp and paper mill which produces bleached hardwood kraft pulp, dissolving pulp, kraftliner, fluting, offset printing paper, wood chemicals and biochemical products. The mill has an annual production capacity of over one million tons of pulp and 255,000 tons of containerboard.
