May 4, 2009 - White Birch Paper Company today said that it will take market related downtime at its Bear Island mill in Ashland, Virginia.

The planned shut-down will take place from May 10 through June 1 and will result in approximately 15,000 metric tons of reduced newsprint production, White Birch said.
