NewPage Elects Senior Officers

March 20, 2009 - NewPage Corp today announced the election of Mark A. Suwyn to executive chairman of the Board and the simultaneous election of Richard D. Willett Jr. as a member of the Board of Directors and as president and CEO of the company. The changes became effective March 19, 2009.

Prior to being named executive chairman, Suwyn was chairman and CEO for NewPage. He was chairman and chief executive officer of Louisiana-Pacific from 1996 until his retirement in 2004.

Willett served as president and COO of NewPage since April 2006.

Headquartered in Miamisburg, Ohio, NewPage is the largest coated paper manufacturer in North America, based on production capacity. The company owns paper mills in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nova Scotia, Canada. These mills have a total annual production capacity of approximately 4.4 million tons of paper, including approximately 3.2 million tons of coated paper, approximately 1.0 million tons of uncoated paper and approximately 200,000 tons of specialty paper.
