Jan. 31, 2009 - Weyerhaeuser Company said that Marvin (Ray) Risco has been named vice president – International Operations, effective Jan. 26.

In his new role, Risco will oversee Weyerhaeuser’s existing international operations. In addition, he will be the focal point to support the company in current and new ventures. Risco also has shared responsibilities with the controller’s office for corporate oversight of the international operations.

A native of Peru, Risco most recently was managing director of the company’s South American operations while residing in Uruguay.

Risco joined the Weyerhaeuser Forestlands International team in 1998 after working for the Gillette Co. in Latin America and Europe. In the following years, he was involved in the planning, development and management of the Latin American and Austral Asian businesses as well as providing financial leadership for the company’s European composites business and Hardwoods and International Products.
