Jan. 22, 2009 - Dow Jones reported that China's newsprint output in December fell 10.8% from a year earlier to 314,000 metric tons, according to data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics.

Total newsprint output for 2008 was 4.6 million tons, up 9.5% on the year.

The National Bureau of Statistics also reported that China's paper and paper board production in December fell 4% on year to 7.2 million tons.

The full year's paper and paper board output rose 8.7% on year to 83.9 million tons.
