New Pulp and Paper Mill Inaugurated in Laos
Dec. 29, 2008 - Long Van, a privately owned company based in the Bac Ninh province of Vietnam, inaugurated a pulp and paper mill in Huaphanh province in Laos on December 24.
Provincial authorities and the Vietnamese embassy’s representative were on-hand for the ceremony.
The USD 2 million mill—the first of its kind in Laos—has an annual capacity of 36,000 tons of pulp.
The new mill is expected to employ some 300 Lao and 60 Vietnamese workers.
