Cascades to Deliver Tissue Products to the Needy
Dec. 3, 2008 - Cascades said that it will do its part to help the needy by distributing some 29,160 tissue and paper towel products worth nearly $100,000 throughout communities in Quebec.
Cascades contribution is to be part of Canada's "8th edition of the Grande guignolée des medias," which is an event where the media mobilizes to assist the poor.
Laurent Lemaire, Chairman of the Board at Cascades, will deliver one truckload filled with Cascades' products to representatives of the event in Sherbrooke. Employees from Cascades Tissue Group will also help the volunteers of the Grande guignolée in other participating cities.
In all, eight trailer loads on Dec. 4 full of bathroom tissue and paper towels will roll to six cities: Montréal, Longueuil, Sherbrooke, Victoriaville, Drummondville and Québec.
Cascades said that it hopes its gesture of sharing will "snowball amongst other Quebec companies."
