MeadWestvaco to Close Grover, NC Packaging Plant

Nov. 17, 2008 - MeadWestvaco (MWV) said that it will discontinue operations at its packaging plant in Grover, North Carolina, in an effort to streamline costs and improve operational efficiencies.

Closure of the Grover facility is expected by early 2009, MWV said. About 120 hourly and salaried employees will be affected by the decision.

Some production at Grover plant will transfer to other MWV Packaging plants and MWV's capacity to supply these products will not be affected, the company said.

The plant produces packaging for the media and entertainment industry.
