Appleton Workers Ratify New 3-year Labor Pact
Oct. 17, 2008 - Appleton said that employees represented by Local 2-0469 of The United Steelworkers Union have approved a three-year labor agreement affecting approximately 675
workers at the company’s converting plant and distribution center in Appleton, Wisconsin.
The new labor pact was ratified Oct. 16.
The previous contract expired on August 31 and the union voted down a previous contract offer on September 24, Appleton said.
Union employees at the plant continued to report to work during the ongoing negotiations, Appleton added.
The new agreement includes improvements to wages, and pension contributions as well as a schedule of health care cost sharing provisions and wellness incentives, the company said.
