Sept. 26, 2008 - Caraustar Industries said that it will implement surcharges consistent with Department of Energy guidelines for its recovered fiber tons as well as make certain adjustments for freight allowances effective on and after October 1, 2008.

Gregory B. Cottrell, vice president Recovered Fiber Group, said, "In order to recoup fuel and freight increases, the company must pass these costs on to customers."

Caraustar is one of North America's largest integrated manufacturers of 100% recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products.
