Nalco to Increase Price for Paper Chemicals
June 2, 2008 - Nalco Company said that it will implement an additional price increase to the paper industry in North America,
effective July 1, 2008.
Price increases in other regions of the world will also be initiated and will reflect
local cost growth, Nalco said.
Customers in the U.S. and Canada will see a tiered price
increase:
- Pricing for most Nalco programs will increase up to 20 percent.
- Select programs, including the use of defoamers, gluteraldhyde,
phosphate and polyphosphate chemistries, pulp mill surfactants,
antiscalants, and pitch control surfactants, will increase 30
percent.
Nalco said the price increases are driven by increased energy and raw material
costs, tightening availability of some raw materials and rising freight
costs.
