Orient Paper to Build Paper Mill in China
May 28, 2008 - Orient Paper Inc. said that it is planning to build a new paper mill in the Xushui County, Hebei Province, in China.
The proposed mill will have a production capacity of 1.2 million tons per year and produce corrugated, offset, writing, and Diazo papers.
“[The new mill] is going to be a very large facility that will enable us to compete with the biggest paper businesses in China as well as the rest of the world,” said Mr. Zhenyong Liu, CEO of Orient Paper.
China BCEL International Engineering Co. Ltd. has been hired to conduct a feasibility report for the proposed mill, Orient said.
Preliminary approval has been granted by the local government, Orient added.
The company expects to begin the project in second half of 2008.
