MWV Names Edward Griffith VP of Planning and Entitlement
May 20, 2008 - MeadWestvaco (MWV) said that Edward R. Griffith has joined the company as vice president of Planning and Entitlement, MWV Community Development and Land Management Group.
In this role, Griffith will be responsible for submitting and acquiring the approval of development applications and agreements, processing federal and state regulatory permits, and managing the entitlement process for the company’s East Edisto master planned community.
Griffith brings more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of real estate planning, engineering, development and management to the newly created position. Prior to joining MWV, he was at WCI Communities, Inc. for 20 years, most recently as a vice president in their homebuilding subsidiary.
Griffith is a Registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Texas, and holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida and an Executive MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Society of Professional Engineers and has served on various boards and committees throughout his professional career.
