Botnia's Fray Bentos Pulp Mill at Full Capacity

May 15, 2008 - Botnia said that its new $1.2 billion pulp mill in Fray Bentos, Uruguay is up to its full operating capacity and the mill's performance has been excellent in both production and environmental expectations.

“I have participated at several mill start-ups and can say that this was really the best one,” said Sami Saarela, mill manager. \

To date, the Fray Bentos mill has produced 377,000 tons of eucalyptus pulp, of which 70% is exported to Europe and 30% to Asia, Botnia said

The mill started up in mid-November 2007.
