Smurfit-Stone Container Appoints Two VPs
April 2, 2008 - Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. has appointed Paul McCann vice president and general manager, Asia; and named David Harrison vice president of strategic sourcing.
“Asia is now the second-largest packaging market in the world, which offers us tremendous opportunities to leverage our full range of resources and capabilities,” said Steve Klinger, Smurfit-Stone president and chief operating officer. “Part of our strategy in this area involves continuing to build a talented and highly focused team, which will offer us the greatest competitive advantage. We are pleased to have Paul leading this team.”
In his new role, McCann will oversee the company’s Global Packaging Solutions (GPS) group. With operations in North America, Europe and Asia, GPS provides customers with value-added packaging and supply chain solutions, including structural design, photography, graphic arts, corrugated and lithographic packaging production. McCann joined Smurfit-Stone in 2006 as vice president of procurement.
Harrison joins Smurfit-Stone from Novelis Corporation, a leading aluminum rolling and recycling company, where he served as director of global sourcing. He has 25 years experience in a variety of purchasing, supply chain, and procurement leadership roles within the automotive and packaging industries.
