Nippon Paper Group Names New President
April 2, 2008 - Nippon Paper Group Inc. today decided at a board meeting to name a new president in the wake of the paper recycling scandal that involved a number of Japanese papermakers..
Nippon said that Director Yoshio Haga, 58, will succeed Masatomo Nakamura, 67. Nakamura will become chairman without the right to represent the company.
The moves will be finalized at a board meeting to be held after a general meeting of shareholders in late June.
Haga will also take over the post of president at the company's main business unit, Nippon Paper Industries Co,. from Nakamura.
