Feb. 8, 2008 - The largest U.S. office supplies retailer, Staples, said today that it ceased doing business with Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) late last month because of environmental concerns, according to a Reuters news report.

Paper from APP made up about 5 percent of Staples' paper products, a company spokesman told Reuters.

Staples said it severed ties with APP because there was no indication that it was making strides to protect the environment.
