Omya to Increase Price for GCC Grades

Dec. 3, 2007 - Omya has announced a price increase of 6-12%, depending on grade, for all ground calcium carbonate (GCC) grades sold to the North American paper industry as contracts and sales agreements allow.

The price increase takes effect Jan. 1, 2008 and includes products used for both filling and coating applications, Omya said.

The company said the price is necessary due to rising costs associated with the production of GCC.
