MeadWestvaco Opens Consumer Packaging Plant in China
Oct. 24, 2007 - MeadWestvaco said that it has opened a state-of-the-art consumer packaging facility in Wuxi, People's Republic of China, which will serve customers in the health, beauty, and food and beverage industries located throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The company plans to serve the growing Eastern European and Middle Eastern markets from this facility also.
The capabilities of the Wuxi facility include MeadWestvaco Calmar pump and spray molding and assembly, and advanced technology offset printing.

MeadWestvaco celebrated the grand opening on October 18 with a ribbon cutting ceremony, plant tour and reception for distinguished local government officials and MeadWestvaco customers.
The 236,000 square foot operation will employ about 450 people by the end of 2007.
