August 14, 2007 - Kemira's pulp and paper chemicals group said that it will increase the price for colorants, colorants auxiliaries and selected optical brighteners by 6-8% in North America, effective September 1, 2007 for all non-contract customers and as contract terms permit.

The company cited rising prices for raw materials, specifically, petroleum-based feed stocks, as the primary factor behind the price hike.
