June 21, 2007 - Abitibit-Consolidated will shutdown its newsprint mill in Grand Falls, Newfoundland for about three weeks for repairs after a fire that involved one of the mill's two newsprint machines.

According to a CBC news report, the shutdown will take effect at 8 pm tonight.

Abitibi's Grand Falls mill has an annual capacity of 214,000 tons of newsprint and employees 490 workers.
