Metso Paper to Supply Board Machine to Vietnam

May 21, 2007 - Metso Paper said that it will supply Lee & Man with a kraftliner board machine for the company's new mill, which will be built in Vietnam.

The total value of the order is about EUR 40 million, Metso said.

The new machine, to be designated PM 15, is a 3-ply board machine with a wire width of 7,250 mm and a design speed of 1,150 m/min. It will be the largest paper or board machine ever installed in Vietnam, Metso said.

PM 15 will have an annual capacity of 400,000 metric tons, Metso added.

Lee & Man's greenfield mill will be located about 200 km south of Ho Chi Minh City. Start-up is planned for July 2008.

Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is one of China's largest containerboard producers. The company, founded in 1994, has three containerboard mills with a combined annual production capacity of 2.2 million metric tons.
