MeadWestvaco names president for new land management unit
May 16, 2007 - MeadWestvaco said that Kenneth T. Seeger has joined the company as senior vice president and president, MeadWestvaco's Community Development and Land Management Group.
MeadWestvaco announced in May it is establishing a new business unit to segment and manage higher-value opportunities for its U.S. land holdings. The new group will generate long-term value and sustainable cash flow from enhancement strategies such as converting land for uses including conservation, recreation and development, the company said.
Seeger brings more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of real estate development to the newly created position. Prior to joining MeadWestvaco, he was president of The Presidio Group, LLC and its affiliates, a highly regarded San Francisco-based real estate asset management, entitlement and development company. Prior to that, he was responsible for all finance and acquisition activities for land and housing development company Southwest Diversified/Carskadon Partners. His real estate development projects have included both residential and commercial properties throughout California and in Arizona.
Seeger is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha, an honorary land economies society. He is a past member of the Pacific Rim Urban Planning and Development Council and is an active member of the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
