Thiele launches innovation program
April 23, 2007 - Thiele Kaolin Company announced today at the 2007 TAPPI Coating and Graphic Arts Conference in Miami, Fla., the launch of its innovation program, Innovation Ideation Initiative, or I3. The program is designed to foster creativity between the kaolin company and its various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers and employees.
“Our customers are the lifeblood of our business and as such, we have created an online portal for them to collaborate with Thiele on new opportunities,” explained Eric Tillirson, Thiele's vice president of sales and marketing. “Thiele appreciates the synergistic relationship we enjoy with our customers and suppliers, and we look forward to continued success in our respective businesses as we embrace and implement the I3 process at Thiele.”
The focal point of the program is the I3 website ( www.innovateatthiele.com ), which allows groups from a wide range of industries to come together to share ideas on process, product and market innovation. The site features information on current uses of kaolin and possible future applications of this versatile pigment, as well as background on the I3 program.
To participate in the program, customers and suppliers can sign up to become a Thiele Collaborator. Collaborators can submit their own challenges or needs, and Thiele will work with its network of industry experts to help solve the issues. I3 also offers collaborators a platform to offer innovative solutions to Thiele's own business needs.
In addition, individuals and companies outside of the kaolin industry will also be invited to participate in I3. As the process becomes fully functional, Thiele, its customers and its suppliers will all benefit from creative solutions to challenging business problems.
