Indonesia Hopes to Be World's Third Largest Pulp Producer
Dec. 22, 2006 - Indonesia's Forestry Minister said his country has set its sights on becoming the world's third largest pulp producer within the next three years.
"We hope that we will be able to lift national pulp production to more than 2.3 million tons in the next three years," Malam Sambat Kaban told reporters today.
With annual pulp production of 1.9 million tons, Indonesia currently ranks ninth in the world.
