Kemira Buys Remaining Stake in Kemira Swiecie in Poland

Nov. 29, 2006 - Kemira said that it has acquired Mondi's shares of the joint venture Kemira Swiecie Sp.zo.o. in Poland.

Prior to the deal, Kemira had owned 65% of the shares and Mondi 35%. The transaction gives Kemira 100% ownership of the company.

Kemira produces crude tall oil at Mondiís site in Swiecie. Tall oil is used for further processing at Kemira's site in Krems, Austria, the company said.

After the share purchase, the tall oil cooperation with Mondi will continue as before, Kemira said.

In addition to its oil production, Kemira Swiecie produces a variety of paper chemicals.

Kemira said it is planning to further develop business in eastern Europe and is looking into possibilities to increase the production of paper chemicals in Poland.
