Omya Announces Price Increase for GCC Grades

Oct. 16, 2007 - Omya Inc. has announced a price increase of 8-10%, depending on grade, for all ground calcium carbonate grades sold to the North American paper industry as contracts and sales agreements allow. This increase includes products used for both filling and coating applications.

Omya cited increasing costs of energy, dispersants, biocides, and mining as the driving factors for the price hike.

"This price increase is intended to help recover these costs and to support the expansions required to meet our customers' growing needs for our GCC products," Omya said in a statement.
