Oct. 4, 2006 - Appleton yesterday said that it has appointed Thomas J. Ferree as the company’s vice president of finance and chief financial officer. He will join Appleton on October 9.

Ferree replaces Dale Parker, who was fired earlier this year.

Appleton announced in June that it fired Parker, claiming that he used company money for personal travel and other expenses. Parker had been placed on indefinite paid administrative leave on May 11. Chief executive officer Mark Richards served as interim CFO.

Ferree comes to Appleton from Wells’ Dairy, Inc., where he served as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer for the past three years.

Ferree earned a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting from the University of Iowa.
