Sept. 29, 2006 - Ahlstrom said that it will close down its Nümbrecht mill in Germany in April 2007.

The mill produces wallpaper base paper.

The decision to shut the mill supports the company's strategy to improve its profitability by closing down non-competitive manufacturing units, Ahlstrom said.

The closure will affect 37 employees
